Transactions Free Agents
- After the auction, all unpurchased players will become free agents. Free agency begins immediately
following the rookie draft and will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
- Teams cannot exceed the following limits when making moves: 17 non-rookies, 3 rookies. The only exception
is when one acquires extra draft picks, but this team may only hold 16 veterans on his roster.
- To maintain these limits, teams must cut players as necessary.
- Players released are placed on waivers, and teams may claim them during the week (week runs from Tuesday
to the end of MNF).
- In the event two teams claim the same player, the waiver priority will be used. The waiver priority
will be maintained all season long by the commisioner. A team making a waiver claim moves to the back of the priority,
with all other teams moving up to fill the open spot.
- If one team makes two claims and the first player is signed, the second claim will be made under the last
waiver priority, as after each pickup the team getting the player moves to the back of the line.
- It is not against the rules to sign and trade a player to a team lower on the waiver priority (see Trades
below.)
- A player becomes a free agent after clearing waivers on Monday night.
Trades
- Trades can be made during the entire year, except for the playoffs.
- Trading can only include players or future rookie draft choices.
